Executive Director Tracey Cravedi is in charge of operations of Hale Barnard Corporation, a role she has held since 2009. Hale Barnard comprises Hale House, a full service residence for seniors, and Barnard Services, a money management program providing budgeting assistance to elders and people with disabilities. General duties include managing and supervising departments of Nursing, Accounting, Admission/Discharge, Residents Service Coordination, Activities, Facilities Maintenance, Administration, Fundraising and Development. More specifically the Director is responsible for all aspects of each department, i.e. FY budgeting accounts payable/receivable, payroll, grants, daily residential and employee matters, setting policy, maintaining legal and safety standards, etc. In addition she is the liaison for Insurance, Investment, auditing, human resources and many other outside service providers associated with the organization. She confers with and answers to the volunteer Board of Directors.
Mrs. Cravedi has a BS in Psychology; is a licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor; sits as the Vice President of MARCH (Massachusetts Association of Residential Care Homes) an advocacy group that supports rest homes and their populations; and is active lobbying for senior and social service legislature on a local and state-wide level.
Prior to joining Hale Barnard she spent many years working with Spectrum Health Systems in successively higher level positions working with at-risk youth.
An energetic and inspiring leader, she has led Hale House through difficult periods of physical plant deterioration, labor challenges, lagging care standards and inappropriate resident placements to become a highly regarded rest home with near perfect marks from the Mass. Department of Health as well as Boston historical and architectural agencies.
Mrs. Cravedi balances her professional duties with her busy family life. Her husband Andrew is a police officer, and they have five children aged three to nineteen years.
